Community Tasting Note

March 28, 2020 - Saying good by to my last of 9 stellar btls at age 10. PnP about 90 minutes prior to dinner and found it pretty ready to go so just slow oxed in my burg glass and btl. One of my favorite producers that always punches well over its $32 price point. Pale translucent red. Terrific autumnal, spice and berry aromas. Wine doesn't get any more weightless, ethereal and lacy then this. The texture is marvelous! There is intensity but balanced by its prettiness. Red fruit, spice underbrush and rainwater fresh minerality. This definitely is uniquely its own thing but there is nod to Chambolle and Barbaresco here to. Squarely in MY wheelhouse, others will be less wowed by its subtly. Label states 14% alc but you'd never know it. Terrific wine from the slopes of one of the world's most active volcanos!
