April 9, 2020 - Follows in the footsteps of the 2016, immediately expressive on opening. Highly scented, almost piquant nose. Blueberry, warm spices, coal dust and leather. Lively.
Blue fruit and plum flood the medium-bodied palate. Vibrant, fresh, long, spicy and dusty but so gently textured and round (not only for a Wendouree but for a warm climate Australian red).
Perhaps not the power and intensity of 2015 and 2016, but absolutely delicious. You could drink a lot of the 17 now (if you’re lucky to have enough), but of course we are honour-bound to cellar some. It’s Wendouree after all.2 people found this helpful 1,604 views
