April 23, 2020 - Gotta say overall, I am a tad underwhelmed. '15s have been drinking pretty well as of late but......
This had an exquisite perfumed incensed nose on opening, but the wine itself was somewhat void of any weight or length....until it was open for 2-4 hours then weight improved, fruit deepened and flavors gained substance. Length improved a bit also A funny wine. I get the feeling you should open this and walk away for 4 hours then fix dinner and drink it.

I also like many other wines that TRBrown does for other clients including Kinsella and Selah amongst others. This was a very odd wine. It was very disjointed. Great incense/perfumed nose on opening but the wine did not drink well. The back end just dropped off the table. It wasn't short, it was non-existent. The flavor profile of the fruit was not that pronounced. To its credit, it did improve with time open. It was a 93 by the end of the evening. It salvaged itself quite nicely. Like I said, decant for 4 hours, walk away, come back later and drink it with dinner. I guess this particular '15 needs another 6-12 months to open up? When this comes all together it may yet drink as well as a 97+ rating would suggest. But it isn't right now, it's a 93. Isn't that the point of us reviewing wines here on CT? To assist eachother in understanding these wines, and where they are along their journey? Hope this helps to explain my rating. Cheers.....Mark
