October 23, 2008 - Clear youthful ruby core of moderate intensity out to a thin pale red edge and thin watery rim. Clean mod+ intensity nose of black cherry, plum, kirsch, dark chocolate, earth, white pepper and a bit of alcohol and garrigue - impressive but very youthful. Moderate body and tannin (very soft but substantial), with mod- acidity and mod+ alcohol. Moderate flavours of cherry with an earthy rustic quality. Fairly high alcohol on the palate and on the finish carrying some heat. The tannic bite continues on into the moderately long finish with some cherry coming back later. A bit hollow in the middle right now and a touch of water on the finish but I believe this wine will fill out in time. The lower acid makes me wonder if this wine will have the stuffing to develop much. Can drink now and fairly good QPR - will see what happens in the next few years... 86 points right now but may climb in time (3 - 5 years).

2nd day - far superior wine - filled out in the middle and no watery finish. Definitely mid term aging potential. Upped points to 88...
