  October 29, 2008 - This 2004 Casa Lapostolle is a very young, very big and very tannic wine. There are small notes of black fruit and oak that is nearly drowned out by the large amount of tannins. This wine reminds me of a young, closed down Bordeaux than anything else. It is tough to tell whether this wine will come around with some bottle time but given that there appears to be little ripe fruit to counter act the massive tannins, even as the tannins wane this should be a passable but not very exiting wine. I hope the future proves me wrong. One should not even think of opening this wine until after 2011.
