June 8, 2020 - Opened on a whim. Had cooked a steak pie with cauliflower cheese (Parmesan and Welsh vintage Cheddar cheese and a touch of double cream and ground black pepper), traditional veg (carrots, broccoli and cabbage) but special attention to the mash...............loads of butter, double cream and Dijon Mustard. All put through a potato ricer as no lumps in my mash people!
The wine.............fabulous. 12 years old and just hitting the real drinking window in my opinion.
All the complexity and development I want. Saved half the decanter for the following evening with a mid strength Chilli and was even better.
My wife is not particularly interested in my wine hobby but even she was impressed and asked for unprecedented seconds!
