Canoehead Does not like this wine: 90 points
June 15, 2020 - Syrah vs Shiraz Blind Tasting ex-France (Victoria, BC): 4th out 5: Hard to escape the nose burn of alcohol even with all the super ripe fruit. Lingering heat in the gullet that probably muted a lot of the flavour profile and enjoyment potential of this wine. 16.5%abv is just too much.

6/18/20, 7:08 AM - Wow. I didn't see that you "didn't like this wine". I agree with your note entirely, but I'd say I liked the wine. I wonder if a longer decant might have helped? I suspect Ross may not have had it in a decanter for two hours as I suggested. Regardless, I won't be running out to buy more Carnival ;)

6/18/20, 12:59 PM - I just can’t tolerate excessive alcohol in wine now. Years ago, in a Sydney AUS BYO Resto we had a bad evening with four people and two CoLs. The memory lingers.
