July 18, 2020 - Blackberry, cassis, currant, plum and granite, with a little black tea. Supple, grainy tannins; the finish is medium in length and this is a stunning value. A full-bodied half Cabernet Sauvignon and half Merlot. Drink 2021 - 2031.

Have I been wrong? Yes. Have I been mostly correct? Yes. Where I have been wrong the most is the end date. There are times where the wine has lasted longer in the prime drinking window than I thought it would.
Knowing the region helps greatly.
Knowing the varietal helps greatly.
Sensing when a tightly wound wine will open takes time and understanding what it is saying today.
