July 25, 2020 - I really enjoyed this wine, although I hated opening it so young. It has those thick fruit tannins you expect from California Syrah, but this wine also has a funky, earthy mid-palate that reminds me of an Hermitage or Cornas. It's robust, rich, but not particularly aggressive. It's good on its own or with food. It's a baby now - buy several and enjoy them over the years, it should have a fun evolution.

10/25/21, 9:33 AM - spot on note... only had a glass of it but was hit like a 2 by 4 by the funky, earthy mid-palate as you described it.
For my own taste perhaps a little too much funk... but still interesting to drink for sure/
