August 1, 2020 - Vice Versa Wines - Mostly 2018 with a few others: Huge, powerful wine loaded with potential. Aromatics of blackberries, cassis fruit, smoked meat, scorched earth and violets. Full bodied and packed with pure, gorgeous fruit with savory character, this is an exceptional reflection of the vineyard. Tannins are firm but fine grained, the texture is perfect and the structure is epic. Layers and layers of goodness that will need some time to unfurl. During the time I was at the tasting, this just kept getting better. Finishes super long. Lots of upside potential. 97+++

11/4/20, 6:30 AM - C2 - have you tried the VV Dr Crane 2018? Most of the '18s that I have tried are tight and not well integrated yet, but VV usually comes out of the gate strongly. Just curious as I don't want to waste it!

11/4/20, 2:41 PM - I took one for the team and decanted a Coravin pour. I'll let you know what I think. But it sure smelled great and looked dark and rich...

11/5/20, 10:16 AM - For 18, that is for sure! I bought hardly any 17, will buy less 19 and likely won't buy any 20, so for me this is THE vintage to get!

11/5/20, 10:47 AM - I sold most of my 2017 after struggling with it. I guess '19 isn't looking that good and I was planning to skip 2020. So, I might dip into the well again on 18, 16, and my favorite, which is 2013. Thanks for the insight.
