Community Tasting Note

  • Winning_Wines Likes this wine: 98 points

July 22, 2020 - Barrel Sample tasted at the winery. At the time of the tasting, this has been bottled for only 3 months, but has had slightly over 1.5 years in barrel.
Deep purple color, silty texture, smooth-silky tannins, with more blue fruit than the 2016. A very rich and sexy wine with perfect balance. This is going to be a rock star wine.
    97-100 point potential.

I thought the tannins were a little harsh at this stage, but the tannins should settle down with a few years in bottle. I will say I get floral notes on the wine which you usually don't with Insignia's. It should be a great one!
