  August 10, 2020 - This wine has it all. The nose is ripe strawberry, cherry, cranberry, garrigue, smoke and camphor. Super rich red fruit, mocha latte, spice cabinet and smoked ham hock flavors have extraordinary clarity, depth and length. Despite its considerable richness, the wine literally bristles with piquant acidity. It therefore remains remarkably light and lively on its feet, with a long, pure and energetic finish. The tannins are ripe, sweet and adequately firm to give backbone and bearing to the wine. The wine is just shy of perfection and shows no signs of shutting down. Currently, it is my favorite 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape. 99+ points.
