  August 23, 2020 - Right down the middle. Completely satisfying and exactly what you'd expect . . . although slightly lacking in complexity. Nose was shy and had to coax out some dark fruit, earth and cedar. The wine was very balanced, with enough fruit, acid and tannin to make me happy. The palate was medium weight and smooth with dark fruits, stone and leather. Finish was medium. All in all a very well made wine at the end of its drinking window but very fun to drink. Liked this far more than the 2002 Chateau Montelena we had last night.
