  August 27, 2020 - Close to WOTN, but not quite......
  
  Redder, softer, but deeper with an hour or two of air. Ok at the pnp, but give it an hour, so much better! Drinking exceptionally well. Nice structure with plenty of backbone and acidity to go a while yet. Beautiful balance to this wine. My last one and I am quite sad :(

  8/28/20, 6:47 AM - CS....this was a really nice bottle and the '15s from Weitz drank so well. It was very nice from the pnp but got even better after an hour of air. Wish I had more!

  8/28/20, 7:38 AM - I hear you! I’m down to my last couple ‘15s myself and the secondary market is dried up on these unfortunately. I really enjoy the ‘16 Weitz too and curious on the ‘18s. I went deep on the ‘18 Carters. Actually shocked at how much still hasn’t sold out. Any other year and they would have been long gone.

  8/28/20, 7:48 AM - CS....not only was '18 a great crop but it was also a bumper crop.....and because of the losses both in volume and income from the '17 crop, most wineries elected to hang onto their great '18 fruit and just make much more wine with it. Hence, more great wine made, combined with the covid economy....we have '18s left everywhere. I'll be tasting a lot of them out in Napa in a few days. The few '18s I've had before all demonstrate depth and power like never before and will surely need some time in bottle to come around and be ready for prime time drinking, IMO.
