  August 31, 2020 - Owned since release. Compared to the other 2005s this one is the most candied and has a higher ABV. Although this particular style isn’t my favorite, as I’ve preferred the other vineyards more, it is a testament to the quality winemaking that this keeps it all together after so many years. Dark purple and red hues all the way to the edges still. Maybe just the faintest hint of bricking. Strong scents of kirsch, all spice and baked spicy cherries. There is a sappy sucrosity that is surprising for a wine that’s 15 years old. It remains luscious to nearly the end with a bit of heat on the finish.
