September 19, 2020 - Opened and let it sat for 4 hours before drinking. Dark red in color with aromas dominated by spice/herds, black fruits and hints of floral fragrance. Medium body on the palate has a fine structure with smooth tannins and fresh black and red fruits, as well as spices. The fruits, the oak, the spices and the acidity all integrated into a well balanced wine that drinks perfectly now. I find this 100% Syrah intriguing in that it drinks like it has a dash of Viognier in it that provides the lift and freshness. I used to think the 2013 was Black Hills' best Syrah, not anymore. I now prefer this vintage over the 2013.
This wine will drink well for the next 4 to 5 years.3 people found this helpful 1,195 views

9/19/20, 6:54 PM - Thanks for the comparative TN, Dilbert! Always like to hear how close vintages vary. Thanks for the timeline, too!
While I find the price point high (& grape competition in the 'hood fierce...) I do enjoy the wine BH is creating.
