Community Tasting Note

  • ProfAvi Likes this wine: 90 points

October 16, 2020 - My local supermarket (Co-op in the UK) pre-covid had this on offer.
I picked up 5 bottles for £8.50 each (half price)!
My tasting note is therefore influenced by the amazing QPR.
    P&P.
    Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
It's young still but so enjoyable for it.
Cassis, cassis and some more cassis - blackcurrant leaf on the nose and its tart fruit on the palate.
    Noticeable but agreeable tannin.
But with food the acidity helps make this wine eminently drinkable.
I happened to have it with burger and chips and the combination was spot on.

    For £8.50 it's a bargain.
But would I buy it for £17?

    I'll never know!

    10/17/20, 12:06 AM - I discovered the 2012 vintage at Co-op and was impressed. I find i prefer the 2016.
