Community Tasting Note

  • GArpaia Likes this wine:

November 12, 2020 - Pale garnet. Intense violet, crushed cherries, sweet spices and touch of wilderness (tar, leather). Vibrant and very drinkable with balsamic profile and delicate drying woody tannins.

Ageing: 24 months in 20 and 40 hectolitres barrels
Principiano uses wild yeast fermentation and organic methods, as well as minimising the sulphur used.

2/16/21, 11:13 PM - So did you end up preferring the 2016 vintage of this wine to the 2015 vintage, or did you like the 2015 the best?

  • GArpaia commented:

    2/18/21, 11:11 AM - Yes I think 2015 is a better wine but 2016 was a solid entry Barolo.

2/18/21, 6:31 PM - Thanks, I'm trying to decide if I want to grab some more bottles of the 2015 before they are gone or wait for the 2016 vintage. Thank you for the advice.
