November 22, 2020 - bottle: Purchased a few of these at K&L a dozen or more years ago and discovered them tonight. Great fill but cork saturated all the way to the top.
color: Very youthful deep purple with no bricking at the rim whatsoever. Nice sheen and sparkle
Nose: Vanilla and cherry syrup. Very un-cabernet like. Cherry pie/cobbler too.
Palate: Fruity and delicious on the palate. Great balance of fruit, acid and resolved tannins. Youthful - you would never know this was a 40 year old wine. More complex than the nose but also very un-cabernet like. Long finish with no bitterness. Delicious! Also, for me, the 14% abv is not evident at all.
Overall: What a pleasant surprise. This way exceeded expectations! Glad I have two more. Probably won't get any better but no hurry to drink them.237 views
