December 9, 2008 - Dark garnet color. Textbook, creamy sangiovese nose with roasted plum, amarena cherry, fennel, dusty earth and exotic oak spices. Full and layered on the palate with thick fruit texture kept in check by firm but ripe tannins. Really well balanced with just a hint of dryness in the finish. Great at the table now with a ragout of fall vegetables and polenta, this should reward a few more years patience.
