December 28, 2020 - Benefits from aeration as it starts out very tight. Light sweet red berries and floral aromatics. classically 2010...light on its feet, packed with minerals, and chiseled lean red fruit which needs to fill out. I find myself thinking that more frequently about 2010 reds as i revisit them

12/28/20, 8:47 PM - Thanks for this. Surprisingly, DRC’s Grands Eche was very forward in 2010 when I had it last year. Wasn’t sure what to do with this bottle, but suppose I’ll wait a while.

12/29/20, 4:56 AM - I should have mentioned I did a pop n pour, which is often something I do simply to get an initial sensation what the wine is offering, and if needed I’ll let it sit. 30-60 minutes helped quite a bit...I considered using the adjective “blossomed” but then I’d say the wine plateaued so I cut that description out. Hope that helps

It’s not tannic and the acidity is well judged so from that perspective it’s approachable for a 10 year old GC. I do wonder if the fruit in general for 2010 has the stuffing
