January 15, 2021 - Obviously quite young. Closed at the beginning and was quite tannic. With time some vanilla and fruit came through. Not a lot of complexity to it, but it’s a decent wine - particularly given how merlot dominate it is (as I’m not a huge merlot fan). Buy a few and lay them down for 3 to 5 and see what happens!

1/16/21, 11:30 PM - Definitely young, lots of sand remaining in the top of this hourglass. As for Merlot, our group has had a couple of muscular Merlot tastings (blind double decant) and there are some gems out there. Post-lockdown we’ll get you down here for a tasting. Van Westen’s one-time release of the Verloren is something to behold. 100% 2016 perfect fruit was “forgotten” in oak for +12 months too long and it was a terrific mistake.
