January 17, 2021 - Upon open you got huge barnyard funk. Bordering on unpleasant but it blew off.
Appearance - clear, medium plus ruby. Inky.
Nose - youthful, There is definite funk with this wine even after hours. Wet dog, wet cardboard. Fruit is red fruits. There is alcohol burn on the eyes. I would say more funk vs fruit.
Palate - lovely. Feels balanced. More fruity, getting red and black fruits. Berries. Ripe taste. Medium body, medium acidity, medium finish, alcohol feel medium, some pepper. A slight sour taste on finish. Tomato or sour orange.
It’s an interesting earthy wine. Feels to me a high abv than 12.5
however....
Its an interesting wine. I paid a premium in NYC so am less inclined to give a higher score. Very drinkable and interesting vs something flat and run if the mill.1,671 views
