violistus Does not like this wine: 91 points
January 18, 2021 - This showed very well last night, after 1.5 hours in the decanter. I got sweet plums, boysenberry, blueberries, and a tiny bit of smoky licorice. It had a very expressive and generous nose. The texture was round and smooth, and the oak integrated.
Based on this bottle alone though, this producer is not a re-buy for me. While tastefully done, this was too creamy and modern for my taste. Maybe in a decade more savory elements would come out, but for my taste this lacked tension and cut. Blind I might have guessed a syrah from Washington State, perhaps. That's not intended as a sleight to WA, I just thought this Côte-Rôtie wasn't true to type.1 person found this helpful 758 views
