January 23, 2021 - Excellent bottle, consistent with past notes. I think this is maturing nicely, but probably won't hit its peak until 2022-24 and then will be a sexy and beguiling glass for at least a decade before it starts to fade.

The entry is suave, smooth and unmistakably napa. Perhaps Palmer from BDX can rival the silky mouthfeel and fruit, but blind, you'd be hard pressed to guess anything other than napa. It's funny but I really think of the alessio as the chateau palmer of napa. Fwiw, palmer is one of my three favorite bdx.

Midpalate is singing. Lush and full without being overbearing. Tobacco, beeswax candle smoke and rich, deep fruit dominate the profile, with a touch of earth. Finish will improve with a bit more time. This is a complete wine and by far my favorite of the per-us label.

3 hour decant, served at 61 farenheit. No noticeable difference in flavors etc as it warmed to 68 farenheit (room temp) over two hours. Paired with truffle mustard, thyme and white peppercorn crusted venison backstrap and homemade papardelle with parmesan and roasted garlic cream sauce. Not a bad dinner :)
