Community Tasting Note

December 24, 2008 - From the moment you pull the cork, unbelievable aromatics of cherries, tea and licorice. The scent literally erupts from the glass like lava flowing from a volcano or smoke billowing from a fire. As I write this note, my glass is a good arms length away from me and the flavors have permeated the room. The wine is a beautiful, deep, dense purple that is nearly opaque. As you taste this wine, it has tremendous power and concentration of ripe black cherry, cassis, tea, and a tinge of soy that melt around a bridge of super chewy yet approachable tannins. The best Angelus I have ever experienced - young or old. A complete knock out and a great addition to the cellar.
