  January 28, 2021 - This snappy wine does a great job of combining no. rhone character with a definite Cali thumbprint of fruity verve and presence. While I loved the intense nose of blackberry puree and lavender with some subtle smoke the persistent medicinal flavor on the front end didn't help the cause for my final impression. There was an almost plumlike fruit profile to the dark fruits with a slight acidity on the finish. It's drinkable now, though a two hour decant helps to open up the fruit even more and allow some of that awesome nose to show even more. I would give it another two years before revisiting and hope that the medicine flavor finally backs off completely.
