some Pinot-like earthiness and mineral. M+ to high acid, M to M- tannin, M body at most. There’s some ripeness that shows a warm vintage but it’s under control and overall this is a fresh and lifted style, and more structured than an average non-Riserva Classico; built rather Nebbiolo-like for Chianti. Good to drink now but will be better in a few years and stay good 10+ years from vintage.
This is really nice, great for food, and especially good considering the vintage and the price. I will probably buy a case each of this and the Riserva when the 2019s come out. ~6.5/101,929 views
