March 6, 2021 - The comments by Philipp Biermann below are pretty spot on, to me. I would add that from a vintage with many challenges, this is a splendid example of what top producers can do. Many Rieslings from this year are a bit too big for me to consider ideal, but this wine has the minerality and acid freshness that make it unmistakably German. I really think that those who love Chablis should also look to Germany for they will get the minerality, taughtness and intellectual elements of Chablis at far better prices. The wines are, of course, very different but they do have some points in common. This drinks beautifully on opening and for the next day. Drink in your garden on a sunny day, for perfection.
