  September 28, 2020 - This ÚNICOrn spent ten years aging in French barriques with an additional sixteen years in bottle before its eventual release in the late 1990s! Incredibly youthful and fresh showing a remarkable Bordeaux-like personality. Tasted double blind, the notes of crushed violets, cassis and mineral rich soil had me pegging this as 90 / 96 Margaux. Digging deeper, the Tempranillo blend reveals dried cherries, dark plums, savory herbs and sweet tobacco while displaying great focus and grip on the persistent finish. The total package, 1970 Único is sublime! 98+
