March 20, 2021 - Bottle: Purchased from K&L a dozen or more years ago. Top shoulder fill and noticeable signs of seepage so I was prepared for the worst.

Color: Beautiful deep ruby purple fading to ruby/garnet at the rim. No browning at all.

Nose: Deep and rich nose of red fruits, baking spice and dusty earth. An almost marzipan note is interesting in the background.

Palate: The fruit explodes on the palate without being fat or heavy. Juicy plums and other red fruits dominate but there are dusty tannins in the background that give it balance. Youthfulness and the complexity of age stand side by side.

Overall: Remarkable how this has held up and how delicious it is to drink. Not just good for its age - just delicious by any measure. I think this wine is about as good as it's going to get so if you have this, enjoy it now before the tannins overtake the fruit.
