  Nose: Black cherry, iron, oak chest, violet.
  
  Mouth: Gorgeous notes of focused black currant and pureed blackberry stream through, streaked with long threads of pronounced violet, iron, black loam, and thyme that build over time. The finish takes over seamlessly, adding notes of black tea and espresso that pop lightly as the fruit sails on endlessly. Tannins are well polished but still assertive, needing to melt in a bit.
  
  Overall: An endless well that refuses to quit, so deep and black that it feels almost like Graves, this is an enormous Chianti, showing both the hefty power possible within the vintage, while still being structured and well poised by linear tertiary notes that add drive and character. Privileges that power over purity, but without a doubt takes you somewhere with it. Drink 2024 - 2038.
