  Nose: Crushed plum, warm caramel, light sage, charred tobacco.
  
  Mouth: Smooth, polished plum, kirsch, and warmed black cherry notes fan out on the palate together, melted in as rails of black tobacco, and light tar run alongside keeping focus. Tannins swell lightly at the end, but are carefully manicured.
  
  Overall: Riper, and more open knit in style than I was anticipating for mountain fruit, this is still sleekly knit, showing the friendlier side of Mount Veeder, with verve to match an elegantly structured backend. Not a marathon runner, but has 10 years in it no problem. Drink now - 2031.
