May 9, 2021 - Wanted something more mature and got it. This drinks well. 3 hour decant. Garnet you can't see through and it somehow looks and swirls lighter. Nose is stewed red fruits, rhubarb on a tart note, anise, licorice, vanilla, some all spice. Front hits with a blend of red fruits, Raspberry being what I get most, slight cherry. Mature fruit, pie material, well integrated. Acidity {medium+} kicks in headed towards mid and potent, nice woody funk, griippy tannins underlying dried red florals coming to the table. Great textural transitions and nuances. You can pull on a lot of fun threads with this wine. Finish lingers nicely and I find it super satisfying, I can take a nice breather between sips; think on it. May not be firing on all its younger cylinders, its all OK, it has a whole bunch of fun things to enjoy and dissect. Can't lose for the money. Time, will also not let this become a long term science project. Enjoy in the best term and should not disappoint.
