  January 10, 2009 - Opened and double decanted after 1hr. Blackish color with good viscosity. Classic herbally -tar/smoke/blackberry/rasberry nose of Cab Franc. On the palate, ripe blackberry/rasberry with some tar. Very well balanced and excellent with roast chicken. Somewhat lean on that palate which is what you would expect for a "classic" year 2002. Moderately long finish with lingering tannins. Could age another 5 years but why wait. Will drink my remaining ones over the next 2-3 years.
