Nose is delightfully characterful - macerated red cherries, leather, spicy wood/whisky cask - this may sound esoteric but I used to sneak sips from my grandfather’s miniature liqueurs on the shelf in his billiard room, which had a particular smell of of wood and furniture polish and it reminds me of that. The tannins are super sandy and rustic, but tamed with both food and air. Such immense character!
