  January 16, 2009 - definitely hot, hot, hot. decanted for 90 minutes, still hard to get past the alcohol. color is a light red/purple hues, slightly transparent and thin. nose is cherries, dirt, and rubbing alcohol. sat in the glass for another hour and improved a bit, perhaps this needs more time in bottle but with a crappy black synthetic cork and a lack of real tannins, i can't really see this getting much better. after another 30 minutes in the decanter i revisited for the final time and it seemed like it had almost peaked earlier, as whatever little fruit was there had gone, mostly just leather and alcohol remained. pretty disappointing even for $10.
