Community Tasting Note

June 22, 2021 - This bottle looked from the outside to be in great shape; no leaking and the cork was firm with little penetration. However, it was all downhill from there, even after giving it plenty of air. Browning badly. Nose is more shoe polish and autumn leaves than anything else. Not terribly interesting in the mouth either, with the most identifiable element being iodine. I had high hopes seeing some of the recent reviews, but this bottle went over the hill some time ago, probably due to poor storage before I bought it about twenty years ago. Not rated.

6/22/21, 6:44 PM - Thanks for the note. I just looked, and it looks like I actually bought this about ten years ago, not 20. Plenty of time for something bad to have happened before I bought it. I just read another review that made me think of another descriptor for this: became more and more prune-like in flavor. Yup, this one sure did too. Oh well, there's more wine where this came from, as well as elsewhere!

6/22/21, 7:21 PM - I often buy stuff like this where I have no idea how it's first 10-15 years of life were spent.....luckily there's been way more good than bad, so far. More to drink for sure! Cheers!
