June 26, 2021 - Pop-n-pour towards the end of the evening, after decanted bottles of 2005 Screaming Eagle and 2013 MacDonald. Perfect cork and fill. Dark red color, minimal lightening at the rim. Nose a little reserved at first but comes forth over an hour to show a very nice mix of cassis, dark berries, earth. Medium-full body, palate follows the nose, excellent balance, medium long finish. Stylistically very different from the Screagle and MacDonald, showing more classic, less modern. Would likely have benefited from a 1-2 hour decant as it was still improving at the end of the night. Should continue to drink well for another decade or two. All 6 of us ranked this between the other 2 cabs. Excellent.
