June 27, 2021 - 20 months in new oak. 13.5% ABV. Ripe red fruit, ripe dark cherry, plum, mocha, coffee, chocolate, coconut, spices, vanilla, and clove, with medium-level acidity, medium-fine, partly resolved tannin and good length. Walks the line with its dominant new oak flavors, but does not cross it. And it looks like the wine pulled through its difficult phase and is back on track. Quite enjoyable once you embrace the boatloads of sweet oak. Less deep and concentrated but equally sweet and oaky on day two. No need to hurry. Good value.

8/7/21, 11:46 PM - The wine is fairly ripe and oaky, and not as structured as some of the more serious 2010s. An hour should do, I guess.
