January 19, 2009 - Decanted 2 hrs. Dark blackish color. On the nose, big blackberry/black currant nose. On the palate, sweet upfont but with good acidity. Prune, currant, and blackcurrant spice. Clearly a ripe year, but not as overripe as Californian Syrah. Short-moderately long finish. Over time, the granite minerality becomes more pronounced. Tannins almost fully resolved. Time to drink up. A great Croze and excellent buy for $24
