July 19, 2021 - Leaky, crumbling cork or else I would have held this a bit longer. This is in a good place with gooseberries, lychee, citrus, and high acidity over a moderately sweet core. Endless complexity to the nose and very balanced on the palate, a brilliant wine that seems very young still. Wish I had another bottle tucked away.

7/20/21, 6:45 AM - Two personal observations:First, 2001 is an amazing vintage that will not really show it’s stuff fully for another 3 to 4 years. Second, I find that the majority of my old Rieslings have crumbly or leaky corks. Never a problem so no need in my view to open. Nice review.
