July 23, 2021 - A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Champagne and Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Youthful yet complex nose displaying concentrated opulent red fruit with a hint of black, cherry, cherry pie, strawberry and rhubarb tart, rose. Vosne spice, Chinese herbal medicine, nutmeg, oolong tea, raw cep and earth. The DRC stem is very pronounced. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of perfectly ripe opulent red fruit, rich yet polished and beautifully detailed, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long concentrated red fruit driven finish with stem and rose at the end. Although youthful, this is quite complex. Absolutely beautiful showing.
