July 29, 2021 - What a great QPR. I was expecting a light wine, focused on fruit and I got much more. The back label mentions Castillon as the main terroir, but the Domaine is located in Bergerac, so I'm assuming a portion of the grapes are coming from Bergerac and another from Castillon...and that's why they sell this wine as Vin de France. Intense in colour, on the nose and on the palate...gobs of fruit, but also some tannins. Good length. I suspect that the vinification is done in whole bunch. Very charming and fresh. Biodynamic farming (certified), wild yeasts, no fining and filtration...and more than 24 months on lees in neutral vessels. You get a lot for $27-28 (IP through Vin dans les Voiles and the SAQ in Quebec - ). Bravo!
