  August 1, 2021 - Beautiful deep purple color. To the nose, a mix of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry with pepper. On the palate, the same fruits - not a fruit bomb but Western more than Rhone. Clearly white pepper over black pepper for standout spices. Only faint gamey or meatiness with very slight forest floor. Tannins in fine threads already. Was not decanted at restaurant but no problem - drank over two hours. Medium mouthfeel and medium length. While not complex, it is also not basic. Has good acidity and liveliness.
