August 23, 2021 - I am a Roero Arneis fan so I wanted to try a red from Roero and this winery is one of the oldest in Piedmont. I expected a "baby barolo" and was disappointed. The wine is more like a Langhe level Nebbiolo. Perhaps, it will add weight and complexity with age, but I doubt it. Lovely Nebbiolo orange tint that has already moved significantly from the rim. Straight forward, tart cherry nose and a waft of incense. Nicely integrated oak. The nose and palate are not complex. Medium plus acidity and a bitterness on the finish made the wine quite enjoyable with tomato-based dishes. Short finish.
