September 16, 2021 - A mild nose in accordance with Chardonnay expectations, this one mildly citrusy, mildly yellow fruited, and underneath some pale oak. Attack of yellow fruit, midpalate of citrus and caper, finish of mild oak. Never cloying, but enough ambient sweetness to believe this is a made in the USA chard. Nice life to acid on first day, also some rocky and slatey bitters. All of these elements a bit “pulled in.” Can understand some notes below calling this “Burgundian.” This may have been better than my score. In a bit of white wine slump.
