Community Tasting Note

    -- 2/3 Chardonnay, 1/3 Pinot Blanc --

NOSE: moderately rich and vinous; chalky/mineral; light, crisp, and a bit leafy/green all at once; Chard. aromatics that lean towards the lighter end of the spectrum --- perhaps from the Pinot Blanc?

BODY: rich, golden yellow color; light to medium-light bodied.

TASTE: very dry; nice front palate richness of fruit, dissipating as it moves to the rear palate; steely; very interesting; light Sweet Tarts flavor at the 2.75 hrs mark; Ashley and I both liked it, but she re-buys at $40, and me at $55, so not a re-buy at $80. In the end, very good to low-level excellent, but not exciting.

9/23/21, 4:30 PM - Thanks for writing the note, Graf. I was really keen on the most recent bottle of 2015 I opened, which was last year. Was brilliant. When I got the offer on the entire range several months ago, I spread my order across 18 bottles. I have just one bottle of the 15 Presence left, will open I think next year.

9/23/21, 10:30 PM - Cool beans, my friend. I'm getting to the point where I need to re-up on Courtin and Marguet, but am grateful no offers have hit recently on account of a CC that is 100% melted at the moment. The biggest Courtin hits for me thus far have been Concordance and Efflorescence, iirc. Overall, I've been finding Marguet to be more my speed, but I do enjoy both, and I have primarily you to thank for drawing my attention to them. :)

9/24/21, 8:29 AM - I bought 6 bottles of the 2015 Efflorescence. If I like it as much as the 2014, then I thought I might as well get ahead of the purchases and just do it al at once. It's time to open another 2014 actually, as I bought more of them for $60 a few months ago. Glad you found some of my comments about the producers helpful. I post these notes so I can help those who want another data point. I'm just one more voice in the community to add to the chorus. Be well, buddy.
