Community Tasting Note

  • melvinyeowq Does not like this wine:

September 24, 2021 - Pinot under $100 (East Bistro): Clearly Burgundy but made in a heavily oaked style, way too much vanilla and black fruits with a cherry cola note. Really dislike Bouchard reds.

9/27/21, 12:03 AM - Have tried enough Bouchards at a lower level to know that they are not my cup of tea, and I think the other big negoces do a much better job even at this level. Haven't tried any of their top bottlings but that's to be expected if they are excellent!

9/27/21, 8:14 AM - In general (at least to me) the lower priced offerings from most Burgundy Producers fall short. I buy them with low expectations and if they are better I am surprised. They are mostly just quaffing wines. I am buying Oregon PN now as a substitute for these wines and only concentrating on the good Burgundies now. If I'm wrong on an Oregon PN it's $30 instead of $50 or $60 so don't feel as bad. Lol
