October 2, 2021 - Decanted this for about 7 hours before drinking. No lightweight, but more elegance than power, which was surprising but very enjoyable. This is very good drinking at the moment, but still pretty early in the development of its tertiary characteristics. I think I’ll save my other bottles for a little while …

Fairly deep russet color, showing its age a bit, but not too much.

Quite a pronounced nose of blueberries, earth, tobacco, flint and asparagus. Clearly a complex wine.

Higher acid than expected (M+), with mounth filling and persistent, but soft tannins. Full body and a good long finish. Still plenty of fruit - blueberry and black currant - balanced by just a little vegetable (the asparagus) and mint with tobacco, leather and truffle on the finish.
